Design

Landon & Angie

Objective

A couple Christmases ago, my brother was moving to Boston, and my sister in law was trying to share more of her artwork online. Both were fine art majors, and both taking huge steps for their careers. As a gift to them, I wanted to create business cards inspired by their artwork.

For their privacy, I'm excluding phone numbers. Enjoy!

Danny's Office Makeover

Objective

Danny wants to revamp his office (which is also his YouTube background). He wants something that looks nice, but that doesn’t contradict his goofy personality. Nothing too studio-like.

For the design, I’m envisioning something clean and bright, similar to his current set-up, but with some more texture and cohesive colors. The biophilia effect is one of my favorite things to consider (using plants to create a happier psych), so I’m thinking he should add some plants!

I hope you love this design concept, Danny!

Joanna's Room

Objective

Joanna wanted a remodeled room. We didn't initially know what aesthetic to go for, so we first needed to establish her goals. Did she want an environment that would make her feel relaxed after a long day of work? Did we want to create a space that would invoke a more fresh and inspired feeling? Or did we want to make her room vibrant and energizing? To narrow down her goals, I created three mood boards and gave briefs on what each aesthetic meant.

After the mood boards, we created a plan of action, in the form of a style manual. This interior style guide would give Joanna more cost effective and attainable ways to put her room transformation into affect. This is also the smartest way we could think to collaborate on this, since this project actually took place in the beginning of lockdown.

Plan of Action: A Style Guide

She decided on the "fresh" aesthetic, so we moved forward with our style manual.

Objective

Megan is a sewing professional with a goal to embrace authenticity and to practice giving back. Her goal is to revamp clothing for a second life, and to share the power of reducing, reusing, and recycling through fashion.

For our project, we created printable and digital flyers to advertise an event at Gem City Catfé. We also updated her logo and created some business cards to match.

Cost Recovery Solutions

Objective

Regina Jones is the sophisticated CEO behind Cost Recovery Solutions. She has a modern, clean design taste that she strives for. So when it came to branding her business, I created a color palette, a logo, a coordinating font, and a sleek website to match that taste. Along the way, I also proofread and refined her website content and restored her business photo to make it look fresher, all to make the brand and website unified. To top it off, I created a luxe business card.

Besides these, I also created a letterhead and some cost schedules for her use.

Two Hands Kneaded

Objective

Marcus Thompson of Two Hands Kneaded LLC recruited me to help his branding development.

We collaborated to create a cohesive color story and logo style that felt fresh and complementary of his new business. His initial color goals were a navy blue and lime green, so I found Pantone shades that suited his wants while feeling easy and refreshing on the eyes.\

I created a custom font for the logo and we made the emblem based off his hands. To me, it represents hard work and consistent goals. I felt we made the perfect brand for Marcus!

Angie's Thrift Shop

Objective

Angie's Thrift Shop is a modern and clean take on your typical thrift store. I wanted to create a space that felt inviting and comfortable, yet bright and brilliant.

I based this shop off my sister-in-law, Angie. She's the most crafty, thrifty, and bubbly person I know. So I wanted to create a space that captured that. With her aesthetic in mind, I organized a type face, a mood board, and some wayfinding samples that I felt drew the brand together.

Acerose Apparel

Objective

The branding concept for Acerose Apparel was centered around the idea of recycled fabrics and sustainable clothing. I wanted to incorporate "acerose"--which translates to needlelike, as the leaves of pine--because I thought it encapsulated the entire premise of botany and fashion design.

Alongside the actual design of the logo, color scheme, and outfit samples, I had a pattern custom-printed to show a tangible look at the company.

Niko's Snow Gear

Objective

Niko's Snow Gear was a branding and product design type of project that I challenged myself to do. I wanted to create something that felt out of my element, out of my comfort zone. I wanted to make a sporty brand. So with that, I built the branding, starting with a mood board, a color scheme, and a logo. I then created ephemeral items to join it--including beanies, the top and bottom of a snow board, and a helmet.

As a side note, the mascot, Niko, is my parents' dog who passed away recently. He was such a great boy, and someone who loved snow more than anyone else I know.

Ace's Stationery

Objective

As a project for my final portfolio at Sinclair, I decided to create a fictitious stationery brand surrounding one of my favorite critters in this world, my late feline Ace. When figuring out a tagline for the brand, my professor prompted, "How would you describe Ace?" The main word that came to mind was cool. He's simply a cool cat.

So with that, I developed a trendy, modern design style around this brand. I even printed stickers and prints from Moo. This was one of my favorite projects to complete.
