Our Song(s)

Hello friends!
So you know how couples have a song that they have a 'connection' with? Well that's what I'm about to discuss. Today is my two-month anniversary with Tyler. So I wanted to post something special.

Tyler and I probably have too many songs. Not that I mind. But it gets difficult choosing which one to jam to sometimes. So here they are and here's the relevance of them to our relationship...just in case you were curious. I'm probably going to forget a lot of them, sadly, but I'll try my hardest to get the good ones.

"Little Room" - White Stripes

This one's sort of a joke. It's one we just listen to if we're slap happy. It's just funny.

"Uma Thurman" - Fall Out Boy

This song was actually the first thing I sent to Tyler (during the Springtime) to get back in touch with him. I liked the retro guitar part--and still do. But feeling utterly lonesome over Spring break, I wanted to get in touch with old friends. So this is the song I sent him. Because he plays guitar. And yeah. I thought he'd appreciate the guitar part.

"In A Week" - Hozier (Feat. Karen Cowley)

Every time Tyler and I are in the car together, we practice this little duet. We have yet to successfully complete it. Like, I can't hit the low notes that she sings, and he starts forgetting Hozier's lines and I try to pick him back up. It's hilarious though.

"We Are Going To Be Friends" - Jack Johnson

This was the song that Tyler and I listened to while laying on beach towels in my front yard, trying to look at the stars. Much romance. So wow.

"No. 1 Party Anthem" - Arctic Monkeys

"Come on, come on, come on. Before the moment's gone." This was the song we had our first kiss to.
I know that I missed a lot of songs. But Tyler, I want you to know that I appreciate you so much. You pick me up when I'm down (unless I trust fall, in which case sometimes you gently set me completely down) and you make me even happier when I'm already happy. You're such a funny, handsome, intelligent, kind-hearted person, and I'm lucky to call you my boyfriend. I love you, dear. And I'm so excited to spend many more months with you. Thank you for being you. You're amazing. <3 I can't express how much I truly love you.

Thank you everyone for reading (and possibly listening to these tunes as well). What sorts of songs do you and your significant other share?
-Lydia
