Hello friends! So the other day I filmed a video about this. But instead of posting the video, I felt more in the mood to just type about this.
When I was on Twitter the other day I saw a hashtag that was trending, one that sparked many different opinions in my mind.
The hashtag I saw read #SpankAFeminist. Angered and confused, I clicked on it to read more. What is this about?
Now, I don't consider myself to have strong feministic views. But what I saw made me very, VERY disappointed in people. The only people I saw using #SpankAFeminist were men asking why this hashtag was wrong, saying feminists use the hashtag #KillAllMen.
So feminists want to prove their points by saying #KillAllMen? This is insanity. If you have a political view, please don't put it in a hashtag, and PLEASE don't start being hateful to people just for being the opposite gender or race, etc. This whole thing about hating men kills me inside. Because there are so many stereotypes about both men and women.
Yes, women get a lot of hate. But women shouldn't be giving men hate as well.
Just listen to Emma Watson's speech regarding feminism. It affects both men and women differently. We just want equality for both genders. Men are pressured by society to keep all thoughts, feelings, and fear hidden. They're told to 'be a man'. No! This is frustrating! Men are humans. Let them feel! As for women, yes. We all know how much of a struggle women have. I don't think I need to even start with that one.
Basically, both genders take some heat. But why do genders need to fight with each other? Especially using hashtags...that grinds my gears. Let's just work together to make this world better as a whole. Can we do that?
Thanks for reading, everyone! Sorry if I offended anyone in any way, but these are my views. -Lydia
