5 Easy Ways To Relax

7/30/2014

As I have mentioned on previous blog posts I have written, I have pretty rough anxiety, so I know how you feel when you feel full of panic and like there's no way to calm your mind. Here are some of my tricks to try when you have a worried or stressed day and you just want to chill.

1. Sleep
To have a brighter day, you need a good night's rest. Natural ways to fall asleep are aroma therapy, blocking all light, or having a soft noise to prevent your ears from hearing every crack of your settling house. Even exercise in the morning or in the evening to help wear you out to fall asleep easily...and to maintain a healthy lifestyle!
2. Exercise
Studies show that exercising helps to relieve anxiety and stress. Try exercising 20 to 30 minutes a few days a week. I run in the morning so I can feel refreshed and ready to go for the rest of the day. It keeps me in a good mood. Even just being outside and taking in the fresh air can make you feel way better!
3. Play With Pets
Being alone when you are stressed might seem refreshing sometimes, but other times all you need is a bit of love and company from, you guessed it, your pets! Not only do animals feel relaxed when you gently pet them, but petting their soft fur can make you feel equally comfortable.
4. Treat Yourself... To Treats
Surprisingly, sources have said that eating chocolate releases the same chemical in your brain that is released when you're in love. Pretty exciting, right? A lot of people love chocolate, me included, but I recommend dark chocolate, especially to dieters, because it has a decent amount of fiber in it. That way you won't feel guilty after eating it!
5. Take Time To Pamper
Who likes relaxing in a warm tub with amazing-smelling bath soap? I certainly do! When I had incredible amounts of panic attacks last year during a very dreadful week, my mom forced me to take bubble baths in her extremely large tub while she was working. I would make the water super hot and fill it high with Dial body wash (we don't have actual bubble bath). The lavender scent of the body wash was amazing aroma therapy while the warm water would sooth my skin making me feel less uptight and less panicky.

I truly hope these tips help you with any stress, anxiety, or mild sadness that you might have. These definitely help me. I'm not guaranteeing these will help everyone, I'm just telling you all what I know. If you have any questions or more advice of your own feel free to comment down below.
