Autumn Scarlet Nails

Hello friends!
It's time to get festive for fall.

Now, before I get started, my blog posts might seem a bit shorter lately. That's because I've been working a lot of hours lately as well as having a couple of overwhelming projects. So I've been sticking with the weekly blogging schedule, but things have been a bit more rushed in that department. But this month, I have an exciting blog post coming soon (it could possibly even be next post, if my package arrives in time), as well as some look book ideas in the works. Things should slow down a bit this week and maybe next, so I can't wait to get some more exciting posts out there soon! Okay, back to the nail look...

Autumn is by far my favorite season of the year. But I usually just wear a burgundy nail color all season long and I wanted to switch things up a little bit.

I'm someone who doesn't own a lot of nail polishes, and whenever I actually buy nail polish, I go for the cheap brands or the bottles that are on clearance. So I've been doing a lot of mixing of polishes this year to create different colors. It makes me feel like I have more of a variety of polishes than I actually have! So today, I was on the mission to create the perfect scarlet nail polish for fall. Because I wanted my nails to pop this time around!

So here's what I used:

Wet n Wild megalast salon nail color in Club Havana

Poparazzi nail polish in Retro Delicious

Poparazzi "Insta-Shine" Quick Dry Top Coat

A Who What Wear tag, since it's a thick kind of card stock material, to mix my polishes together.

Let the mixing begin!

The colors on their own are already super bright and beautiful, so I thought that they would be perfect for creating a vibrant scarlet color. I basically just put an even amount of each color on the tag (and yes, I used a bit much, but I was considering painting my toe nails as well).

I'm someone who isn't too picky about if I get some orange polish in my red bottle, so I went ahead and used the red nail polish's brush to mix the two together. And, as I had predicted, it created a gorgeous scarlet!

And here's what it looks like! A beautiful, bright scarlet color. I love the way it pops! I feel like it's a color that could work for any season. So gorgeous.

I went ahead and topped off the nail polish with some quick-dry top coat and threw away the tag. What do you think of this color?

Thank you guys so much for reading! Feel free to leave any festive fall blog post requests below, because I'd love to know what you guys want to see!

Keep on grinning!

Lydia
