BATH TIME + Zoella Review

7/16/2016

Hello friends!
So lately, with a lot going on in my head, I've been taking a ton of baths. I've started taking them nearly every night.

Bath time for me is a time to unwind, to decompress, and to just take time for myself. Like I said in my last post, I've been spending my Summer just working and gathering with friends. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but I've just forgotten how to enjoy time by myself! So, in an attempt to become more dependent and to enjoy the art of doing nothing, I purchased a few Zoella products to try out.

I've been really looking forward to testing out these products, honestly. I can just trust that Zoe would try her hardest to put out the best spa products she can, considering her own obsession with relaxing.

So, for this post, not only do I want to share how I unwind, but I would also like to do a mini product review. Like I said, I only purchased a few of the Zoella products, but I would like to share my thoughts about them anyway.

So to start, I of course draw the bath. I make sure the water is nice and hot so that I really feel cozy and relaxed. I like to really get into that cozy feeling by turning on the string lights, lighting some scented candles, and playing some relaxing music. I recommend Commes Des Enfants by Coeur De Pirate, Hand-Made by Alt-J, or Hello, I'm In Delaware by City and Colour. These songs are all mellow and, therefore, calm my nerves.

Next, I of course pick what product I'd like to use. Before I had the Zoella products I used Dial's Lavender and Twilight Jasmine with a little bit of baby oil. When in doubt, add baby oil. I can't stress enough how amazing it leaves my skin feeling.

Since buying the Zoella collection, I've definitely been using those more. Here are the products I purchased...

The Zoella Beauty Soap Pop

Let me just start by saying that I love the packaging, look, and idea of this product. It has an adorable presentation (even without the paper covering over it) and the hidden message idea is super cute. I ran this under my bath water and I did like how it made the water feel. I do have two qualms, though. First of all, it isn't very fragrant. I originally thought it was going to smell like the Fizz Bar (these are both from the same collection), but I had a hard time smelling anything at all. My other issue with it was that I didn't like how it left my skin feeling while I was bathing. I felt fine when I was dry, but directly rubbing this on the skin made me feel kind of sticky. So running it under bath water felt okay, but directly on the skin felt slightly odd. And because it's not very fragrant, I used it with the Fizz Bar.

The Zoella Beauty Fizz Bar

Unlike the Soap Pop, this product actually has a strong scent. I usually only use this product if I'm bathing during the day, because the scent isn't really one that would necessarily mellow me out. It's a fun scent, and it keeps the bath smelling amazing. My only real complaint about this product is that I only put two in at a time since I don't want to use it all up in one bath. It's fun to watch and it's scent remains through the whole bath, even with just two cubes!

The Sweet Inspirations  Bath Latte

This product is from Zoella's newer collection, Sweet Inspirations. And the scent of this certainly is sweet! It's use of sweet almond, cacao, and honey give it a very cozy scent, perfect for those nights where I just want to relax. Although I don't have a photo of this in action, I can assure you that it provides many bubbles in the tub. Even the slightest little pour of this product leaves me smelling incredible, even after my bath! If I use this product in the shower or bath before I leave for work or to visit a friend, I don't even worry about applying perfume. This Bath Latte does the trick by itself. This one is by far my favorite out of the three I purchased, and I'm absolutely in love with it.
