Sneaky Nik, you were always so loved. It broke us to see you in pain. All you wanted was love, snacks, and plenty of time in the snow. But maybe mostly snacks.
Bub, you always brought a smile to our family's faces. You were such a quirky boy. From your human-like expressions to your frequent howls, to the way your snarled your teeth at us before you play-wrestled. We always told you to use your inside voice when you'd say "I love you". It took you a few times, but you still impressed us every time you'd whisper it.
We loved the way you laid like a frog. Or how you'd lay down when you ate, choosing every kibble very wisely before you ate.
Let's not forget how much you loved cheese. Even a little sprinkle of parmesan would do.
We always called you our little brother. I'm still not sure if you were a momma's boy or a daddy's boy, but you seriously made all of us so happy. You completed our family, little brother.
The way your fur felt, I'll never forget it. I'll never forget giving you big cuddles. I'll never forget the sound my door made at home whenever you'd want in my room. I'll never forget how often you'd join me and lay with me when I was having a bad night. You were such a good boy, Niko.
When I moved out, I loved visiting home and seeing how excited you'd get when I'd arrive. You'd snort and sneeze and howl at me, then instantly beg for treats. What a great guy.
You loved catching sticks, snowballs, and bubbles. You were also pretty good at chasing the soccer ball when we'd practice in the yard, growing up. You always had such a playful spirit, even when you got older. You always had this puppy playfulness about your energy and spirit.
I love you bud. Mom loves you, Pops loves you. We all love you. And we'll never forget you.
Take care of each other up there, you two. I love and miss you both so much.
