Hello friends! I didn't write a blog post last week since I've been swamped with midterms and huge projects. But I've fortunately been relaxing with my dear friends, Niko and Ace.
Way back when I started this blog, I wrote a little post about my cat and dog. But since then, I haven't really mentioned much about them on this blog!
So lately, the weather in Ohio has gotten progressively colder. So what better way to unwind than to hang out with my dearest friends?
So for those of you who don't know, this little guy is Ace. He's the sweetest, chillest, smartest cat around. I like to brag that he recognizes his name and knows exactly when I'm calling for him. Ace's favorite hobbies include playing with field mice, begging for Temptations' treats, napping in the sunlight, sticking his face in my pint of ice cream when I bring some home, and curling up next to me when it's bed time, only to meow at me when he wants out at 3 a.m. He tends to get cross-eyed when he starts to fall asleep, which sometimes looks spooky. But he's a cuddly little guy, so he's always welcome to take naps in my room whenever he pleases.
We originally found Ace when I was about 10 or 11, playing soccer in the back yard when all of a sudden an adorable cat appeared. He was super friendly so we went ahead and took him in. Ace was an indoor cat for a little while, but we ended up letting him stay outside and he ended up loving it! He of course has stayed around our property, so I'm not too worried about him running away. He tends to sleep in my room almost every single night.
As for Niko, he's an indoor dog. My parents were in another area of Ohio when they saw that there were husky puppies for sale. So when I was about 12 or 13, Niko joined our family.
So Niko is a super expressive pupper who loves to howl and slam his front paws down on the floor if he gets riled up enough. Niko's hobbies include begging for food, pretending to go to the bathroom only to come inside and get a treat, to take a nap in the living room with my parents, and to sniff for crumbs in the kitchen.
Lately Niko and I have been hanging out more, so I always know how to cheer him up when he randomly gets anxious or sad. Niko still acts just like a little puppy, so sometimes you've just got to rough him up a bit when he's feeling blue. He loves playtime!
