Fall 2017 Makeup Tutorial

11/8/2017

Hello friends!
As most of you may be able to guess, I've been loving my Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette.

With this palette comes colors of all sorts. There are neutral colors, warm colors, even bright, bold colors! So I've been undoubtedly using these warmer shades for autumn.

So, although I've been super busy with school and work, I want to take the time to show you what shadows I've been using a lot lately.

Stage 1: Prep and crease

I begin this look by priming with e.l.f. moisturizer, using an e.l.f. brow duo on my eyebrows, and applying Maybelline Fit Me! foundation all over my face.

As base colors on my actual lids, I use the Morphe 25A Bronzed Mocha palette and apply the cream shade to my lid, and the pink shade between my crease and brow.

Next, I use the color M.F.E.O. from the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette all along my crease. It's a nice, subtle tan shadow that is perfect for a simple crease contour. If you're someone who prefers more minimal makeup, this color is perfect for adding a less-dramatic depth to your crease.

To build up a bit more depth, I like to add this mauve-y color called Buns from that same palette. This color is my go-to crease color besides the tan shades that I use first.

I then grab a fluffier brush and hint in some Jacz in the outer crease to begin creating even more depth and reshaping my eyes ever so slightly.

So this is what things started to look like on my actual eyes.

Stage 2: Adding contrast and beginning the lid

After these first steps, I decided to add Creamcicle on my lids.

By this point, I decided I wanted even more contrast in the outer corners of my crease, so I added the brownish/burgundy shadow, Chip. This color is easily one of my top favorites, surprisingly.

At this part, I also went ahead and added some Beam as my highlight under my brown bone and in the inner corners of my eyes. Things started to really shape up at this point.

Stage 3: Adding some shimmer

To add a bit more fall vibes to this look, I began subtly gradating some shimmery eye shadows from the inner lid, out. I began with Queen, shifted into Meeks, and ended with the bronzy 24/7 in the outer corner of the lid.

With the colors Buns and Queen, I added another gradient along my lower lash line.

Stage 4: Final touches

After lightly swiping some e.l.f. Perfect Finish HD setting powder on my eye lids, I applied some NYX vinyl liquid liner. And, as always, I've gotta use my eyeliner for cat eyes and cat eyes only. Next, while the liner dried, I applied some e.l.f. bronzer as a contour, and I used Beam from the Morphe x JH palette as a cheek/nose/brow highlight.

I then used that same setting powder on the rest of my face before curling my lashes and applying my Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. After this, I finished my look with some ProFusion Matte Lip Cream from the Cocoa pack. And that was that!

Thank you all for reading! What are some eye shadow colors you've been using this season?

Keep on grinning!
