Fall 2018 Makeup Tutorial

11/24/2018

Hello friends!
Alongside moving into my first apartment, I'm also having a sick day. Woohoo! So I figured if I'm going to feel like a schlump, I might as well try to publish something to break the silence on the blog.

I sometimes find myself starting traditions on this blog without realizing it. One of those traditions is doing a seasonal makeup tutorial year by year. As the seasons go on, my makeup skills sharpen themselves little by little. I'm definitely no where close to being a makeup guru, but I'd definitely say I've improved a lot since I started this blog way back in 2014.

So a few days ago (on Thanksgiving, as a matter of fact), I wanted to try out a festive gold eye look. I've done a few festive fall looks before, but this one was aimed to be the shiniest of them all!

So I'll give you guys a little walk through of what I did:

To start, I applied my e.l.f. daily hydration moisturizer and my Loreal Paris Lumi Glotion to my face. I then filled in my brows using the L.A. Girl brow kit in medium.

I then applied some of my Loreal True Match foundation to a small brush and carved around my brows to clean them up a bit. I also applied my Loreal Infallible Pro-Glow foundation with an e.l.f. beauty sponge and used my e.l.f. contour palette to, well, contour my face. As a highlight I've been using the Loreal Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator lately because it's great for layering. As you can tell, Loreal is kinda sorta taking over my makeup collection.

Next, the eyes. I focused my look primarily around the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette because, well, it's a gorgeous palette. I reached for the highlight shade "Beam" for my inner corners and brow bones. I decided to use "Pooter" in my crease because I feel like it's a really simple contour shade, so it's pretty much always my safe bet.

On my lid I used the gorgeous shimmer shade "Queen" for that pop of gold. I even applied it along my lower lash line as well. And in the outer corners of my crease I popped in some "Mocha" for a deep contrast.

Next, to follow my dreams of creating a super shimmery eye look, I dusted some "Candle" in the inner corners of my crease from the Tartelette Toasted palette.

To finish up the look, I applied my NYX Vinyl Liquid Liner, some e.l.f. setting powder, my Loreal Lash Paradise mascara, and my ColourPop Ultra Matte Lipstick in "Take a Pixie". And voila! It looks pretty festive to me.

Thank you guys for reading! I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and a safe Black Friday. Hopefully I can take some photos for my apartment tour soon!

Keep on grinning!
