Get The Look: Zooey Deschanel

Hello friends!
If you haven't heard about it, Get The Look is a series I've had for a while, where I do makeup inspired by celebrities. I'm not trying to look exactly like them, it's just inspiration that I can incorporate into my own makeup.

Zooey Deschanel is one of my favorite actresses. She has such a fun personality, and such a unique look. Inspired, I decided to see if I could make my eyes pop as much as hers with the use of my makeup. So here we go...

The image of Zooey (above this image) is what I was basing this look around. So the after doing my foundation routine, I just applied some blush. If you want to contour, go right ahead!

After rolling on some of my E.l.f. Eye Primer, I applied a pinkish-brownish color in my crease with my smoky eye shadow brush (as seen in the picture). Bing bang boom. Then I used my brown brush (for precision purposes) and applied a dark brown across my crease, then blended it out, almost like a contour. This defines my eyes and makes my eyes appear bigger, similar to Zooey's. After that, I applied a pinkish-creamish shade to my lid. All these colors were in my E.l.f. Neutral Eyeshadow Palette.

I then used my Wet 'n Wild white pencil eyeliner on my waterline and in the corners of my eyes to highlight and brighten.

Next I used my eyebrow brush (once again, for precision), dipped it into water, and dabbed on some black eye shadow. I could've used black eyeliner, but using eye shadow as eyeliner gives this a more smudged look and, in the end, will make the lashes appear to have more volume. If you're worried that this will be messy as you wear it throughout the day, apply some liner sealer over it, maybe a setting spray as well. E.l.f. has both and they're super affordable.

So this is the fun part (in my opinion). Continuing to use the brow brush, I applied the black shadow just on the outer side of my lash line. As I move in towards the corner of my eye, I blended colors together, so they went from darkest to lightest. The colors went from black, brown, gold, white, like Zooey's in the top picture. You can also use liner sealer and setting spray on this step if you'd like.

Next, I applied my Eyelure false lashes. I can't remember which kind they are, exactly (maybe they're the volume kind) and I applied my E.l.f. Mineral Infused Mascara.
Picture
I gave my lips a pop of color with E.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Ravishing Rose. It almost smells like coffee or something. I can't think of what it is. Almost chocolatey. It's awesome though! And it looks very pretty.

Next, I put my bangs down straight and I pinned my hair into a half-up-half-down 'do. I then curled it like Zooey tends to wear it in New Girl.

Aaand we're done!

Thank you all so much for checking in. I've been wanting to make this for a while and I've never been content with it until now. I worked hard on this one! Have a celebrity you'd like to see in this series? Comment your requests below!
