My Favorite Autumn Scents

9/20/2016

Hello friends!
Autumn is here. And in Ohio, it still feels like Summer. However, I wanted to get in that fall kind of mood, so I started decorating my room in a more Autumnal matter.

I think making my environment more appropriate for fall makes me feel more cozy. Even fall fashion is super comfortable. Uh, hello! Sweaters! I think one of my favorite things to do to cozy up my room is to hang up the string lights, to keep blankets in reach, and (of course) to get a warm scent going!

Like a lot of bloggers, I am obsessed with candles. As the dudes of Twenty One Pilots say, "Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young." Well, sometimes certain smells--specifically the ones in this blog post--take me back to happy Autumn memories. Autumn the beginning of the "holiday season". Just think of all the pumpkin pie you'll get to eat soon! I'm so excited, people. I'll just get right to it...here are my absolute favorite fall scents:

Illume's Garden Essence  Herb & Irma in "Pumpkin & Spice"

I became a huge fan of Illume earlier this Summer when I used some of their perfume and lotion. They always have the cutest packaging and the best scents! This one is "Pumpkin & Spice"...doesn't that just scream fall to you? It smells so warm and dessert-y. I'm ready to burn this when the weather gets colder! And I know I'm going to be keeping this tin when it's all used up. So cute!

Bath & Body Works Artisan Market "Wasabi Apple"

This candle is so perfect and beautiful and fresh and ugh. It makes me think of warm apple cider. The description reads, "Special notes like the hot Japanese Wasabi root transform crisp apples into a fragrance with an adventurous spirit." I fell in love with apple-y scents my freshman year of high school, when one of my favorite teachers kept an apple-scented hand sanitizer on her desk. Ever since then, I've searched for the best apple scents, and so far this one is the best! Typically fall scents are warm and sweet, but this one adds a fresh twist to that tradition. I bought it a year or two ago, so it might still be in stock. Side note: I added the rubber band as a decoration. I don't know why, but I just thought it looked kind of nice.

Better Homes' "Candied Caramel Pecan"  and "Brownie Pecan Pie"
& ScentSationals' "Pumpkin Spice"

Man, so many scents to squeeze into one section. I know these aren't necessarily candles, but come on! Once they're in the candle warmer, they just make the room smell so amazingly warm and sweet and cozy. I would've put my "Old Fashioned Vanilla" in this one as well, but that one's more appropriate for the wintertime. I got these ones from my boyfriend's parents for Christmas last year, and I'm still working my way through them. I used up nearly all of my "Candied Caramel Pecan" wax cubes last winter, but it was totally worth it. I'm putting them all to use this year. There's no doubt about it.

Old Williamsburgh Candle in "Caramel Eggnog"

This one's been mentioned here a few times in the past. I've been burning this candle for a few years now, probably. It might the coziest, sweetest scent I've ever smelled. For that very reason, I think it's perfect for both fall and winter. The description reads, "A sinful combination of creamy eggnog, velvety vanilla & spices with a drizzle of caramel." I'm in love. Even without burning the candle, if you just open the jar, you can smell it from across the room. It's some beautiful and powerful stuff, that's for sure.

Illume's Garden Essence Herb & Irma in "Tomato Flower & Herbs"

This one seems like such a random scent to throw in here. But once again, Illume's got me! The packaging is gorgeous and the scent is just so fresh. It reminds me of that crisp fall air, when the leaves have just been rained on and the nearby crops are harvested. It's just so interesting to find a candle as fascinating as this one. I don't think I've found a candle that smells more fresh than this! So if you're not into the sweet scents, this one if definitely for you. It smells subtle yet comforting, and it looks adorable on the counter!
