My Happy Places

Hello friends!
It's been a bit dreary this winter.

With school and work, sometimes I just find myself lost in a whirl of stress. But nothing makes me more giddy than being in some of my favorite environments. And if I can't always be in them, it's just nice to scope out some of my pinterest boards to just add a bit more brightness to my day. I was actually just talking to Tyler about this the other day when I wasn't feeling well. I showed him a ton of my saved pins and told him all about my fascinations with these places and details.

So for this post, I'll be sharing some pins from my pinterest that best portray my ideal, most perfect, most cozy environments. Now, this is similar to something I've written in the past, which was my post Creating a Relaxing Environment. So if you want to make your domain even comfier, check out that older post!

Also, as a quick side note before I begin, you may notice that blog posts have been slower. That's because I'm currently trying to find a new digital camera for myself. But until then, I'll probably take a bit longer to compile posts. So for this post, all photos are from my pinterest account. Alright, I'll go ahead and begin now.

1. A bathroom with a fancy tub

Maybe it seems a bit extra of me to want a giant, steamy, gorgeous bath, but it's just something that I wish I can someday spoil myself with. I treasure baths because they relieve my back pain and soothe my anxiety. You can add oil and make it a super dreamy, moisturizing experience. Or what if you want a more energizing bath? Then use a citrus scented bath bomb! Let the fizz begin.

2. A comfy window nook

There's just something so refreshing about letting natural lighting peer in. Think about it, you're drinking an iced coffee in bed, taking the morning slow, enjoying in the calming views of the outdoors. My bed is already a place where I sit and work on projects (one of which is blogging). But I just love the idea of being next to the window and allowing that space to be a place where I spend my time (besides just the times when I'm asleep). I think you should make every environment an environment that you want to spend time in.

3. Actually being outside more

I love outdoor festivities, especially when they're exclusive to particular seasons. Fall is definitely a favorite season of mine. I love the smell of the dry leaves and constant bonfires. I'd love to get more involved with late summer / fall festivities as the years go on.

4. Rainy mornings

I know I can't control the weather, but there's just something about the sound of rain hitting the window that relaxes me so much. A lot of people complain about the weather any time it rains, but I embrace each day, no matter if it's rainy or sunny. Just enjoy nature in all of its beauty!

5. Sharing the kitchen with Tyler

Look, before Tyler tries to expose me, I'll just tell you: he does all the cooking. But he's taught me how to cook a few different things, and even got me hooked on garlic. I hope to improve my cooking so I can actually contribute a bit more than just crunching cashews and chopping said garlic. I'd love to make complex dishes with him in the future, for sure. But besides my lack of skill in that department, spending time with him in the kitchen is just a wonderful feeling.

6. A pillowed paradise

Like I said, my bed is where a lot of projects (and lounging) happen. I get so amped when I see beds with lots of blankets, lots of pillows...and as an added bonus, one that is surrounded by lots of plants. There's just something so about these spaces that really gets me excited about decoration and interior design. I love looking through photos of interiors like these.
