The Latest and Greatest

Hello friends!
A lot has happened, even just within the past few weeks. Tonight, I'd like to share some of the latest achievements and changes that have been taking place in my life.

I graduated.

First of all, I'm officially a graduated graphic designer. I have my associate's degree, ya'll! I was so stoked to gather a portfolio and invite my family to see my hard work. When you tell people you're a design major, a lot of people probably are a bit confused. What kind of design? What kinds of jobs can you get? How do you--wait, what? Honestly, I'm down for whatever.

Besides my dope outfit (including my men's shoes), my portfolio consisted of three sections. The first was branding concepts. In this section, I basically compiled mood boards, logos, color palettes, and typography samples to portray the general style and mood of the theoretical company. I can go more into this later, of course, since I did make a big manual of a fake business that I'd one day love to bring to life. This portion of my portfolio was all about articulating exactly what I'd want to see in different business, using different styles and energies.

The second portion of my portfolio was my product design section. I mean, what all needs to be said about this? I basically produced fake products for fake companies. It was a good time.

As for the third section--my photography. My adjudicators saw my genuine love for photography the moment they flipped through the pages. There's just so much wiggle room in the world of design, and I want to explore it all.

I tried acrylic pouring.

When my friend Shelby and I unite, we become one powerful and creative force that probably overwhelms anyone who surrounds us. But it's fine, we're fine. We're just out here having a great time. We both have been interested in trying out acrylic pours since seeing both the Oddly Satisfying stories on instagram, as well as Jenna Marbles' video. So we gave it a go, and well, it was a blast. Here are some action shots I took of the encounter.

I've been going on more adventures.

One of my 2019 resolutions was to get out more. And boy, have I. Lately it's even just been random drives, or small adventures around town to shops and cafes that I've never explored before. I love when my "sister" Vanessa joins me because she's such an open-minded soul to our all-day festivities. I've been improving on my travel anxiety so much lately, and I'm very proud of myself for doing so.

I went to my first concert.

Going to a concert has always seemed so daunting to me. The people, the huge space. But MGMT is my favorite band by-far, so I wanted to do this. I wanted to face this fear once and for all. And I did. And it was magical. I'll probably write another, more in-depth post strictly on seeing them. Ugh, I loved every moment of it. Thank you, Cooper, for joining me for this experience!

I started a podcast.

Something I've been wanting to do for a few years now is to start a podcast. But I've never known what to talk about or how to go about doing that sort of thing...until finally, when I was in class, my friend Michael told me and my gal pal Tori that our dynamic was fit for a podcast. So with that, I was in. I. was. all. in. So with that, she and I recorded our first episode and it is live on Podbean and on YouTube. We're still in the works of getting it on Apple Podcasts, but some day...

Thank you guys so much for checking in. Let me know what you think about the podcast! Also, what should we talk about next?

Keep on grinning!

Certainly an upbeat blog by a very bright and energetic woman. Note is take about your wrestling with your travel anxiety. If you want to push that, you're welcome to your private bedroom with bath anytime you choose.
Wishing you happiness and great luck in all things. I hope you're proud of the work you've done and are doing. You're most certainly with it.
