Violet NYE Makeup

12/31/2018

Hello friends!
2018 has come to an end! And this time, I wanted to post a NYE makeup look using a color I don't normally use--purple.

2018 was a year of change for me. I broke off my relationship, I got a second job, I moved into an apartment--all while still fighting my anxiety and looming depression. I'm not one to make resolutions, but I want to express some goals for 2019:

   - to try to find happiness everyday, even in something small
   - to not sweat the small stuff
   - to learn to appreciate the good in myself that I struggle to see today
   - to keep those close to me even closer
   - to make more one-on-one time with family
   - to continue to be honest on this blog
  - to better my relationship with myself before I choose to get into a relationship with someone else...which also requires repair in my trust with others after said long-term relationship.

Of course I still aim to blog weekly, so that's not a serious resolution. But life happens so I know I shouldn't stress out about it. Speaking of which, let's write and publish this final blog post of 2018 before this ball drops!

Into The Makeup!

So to start, I did all the prep work. I used moisturizer to prime, I used my L.A. Girl brow kit to fill in and sculpt my brows, and then I applied my Loreal infallible pro-glow foundation.

Next I used an e.l.f. bronzer palette to contour my face. I also used the Loreal Lumi illuminator to highlight. This gives a nice dewy glow to my face on a cold rainy day. Don't mind my crusty lips. Oof. Sister's never perfect.

After also highlighting with "Beam" from the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette in my inner eye corners, I turn my focus to the Morphe 25B Bronzed Mocha palette.

To start, I applied the lightest pink shade as a base color on my lid. In my crease, I applied the brightest fuchsia shade. Be sure to blend these purples out since they're, well, extremely bright. I even blended some of it down to the outer corners of my lids to help me out a bit.

After this, I dug into the deepest purple in the 25b palette and applied that to the outer corner of my lid and crease to add depth to the look. I also applied these two purples to the lower lash line to bring the entire eye look together.

After this, I added pops of Royalty from the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette to create a larger range of purple tones. So I added this color to the outer corners as well.

To add even more shimmer to this NYE look, I applied "Candle" from the Tartelette toasted palette and applied my NYX epic ink liner.

After this, I set my face using e.l.f. setting powder, applied my Loreal Lash Paradise mascara, and applied my trusty Estee Lauder lipstick in "160 Discreet". As an added bonus I applied my Translucence perfume by Kristin Ess. Gotta look and smell formal 'n stuff.
