Winter Favorites 2020

Hello friends!
In the hectic time of a pandemic, I'm trying to keep my head up.

It's always important to stay informed on the current situation. Stay safe, think of yourself and those around you, and try to stay in-the-know and updated. Also, stay home.

To keep my head up, I've been reminding myself that in a few days, it'll officially be spring. So to relieve some nervousness about COVID-19, I thought I'd write a little blog post today, sharing some of the products I've enjoyed through the winter time. Hopefully it can take our minds off our anxieties for a couple of minutes.

So I guess here we go. Here are some of my most recent favorites:

Good Chemistry

I've already talked about Good Chemistry on the blog before, but I need to shout them out again. Maybe it's because I keep buying their products, or maybe it's because I found my roller ball under one of the seats in my car. Either way, I've been reminded recently how amazing all the scents are. Plus they're vegan, cruelty-free products that are packed with essential oils. You can find these babies at Target, compartmentalized into four scent categories. It's incredible.

Any candles from Marshalls

My taste in scents changes per season. In the winter time, I like sweeter, more dessert-oriented scents. I love going to Marshalls and snagging candles because they have such a wide selection. Also it's pretty inexpensive. I got this Tahitian Vanilla candle for maybe $7.99, and it's a pretty big candle (it's a 3-wick, baby). Basically anything from Marshalls steals my heart.

Circular, flat earrings

This might sound overly specific, but hear me out--I love these kinda of earrings because they almost mimic gauges. I love the edgy look of gauges, because they aren't too flashy, but they're still bold. But the thought of committing to stretching my ears is daunting (says the girl with four tattoos). Regardless, I found a four-pack of these earrings at H&M late last year, and I found a leopard print pair at Sugar Shelf Boutique. I just adore this style.

Buxom Lipgloss

I lied to myself. Ugh. I told myself ages ago that I'd never be a lipgloss girl. I said never again would I subject myself to putting sticky goop on my lips. But, gosh darn it, when I saw my friend Arie wearing this pretty pink gloss, I knew I wanted to give it a try. She let me try it on, but warned me that it was another one of my worst nightmares--a "plumping" gloss. That's right, the gloss that purposely stings your lips to make them swell. Yeah, that's normal. Out of curiosity, I gave it a whirl. Now, I expected to be in actual pain. And I can't testify to if this actually makes my lips look more plump, but I loved the colors, and honestly, it barely felt stingy. It felt more like a minty, cooling feeling. Anyways, I bought myself a Buxom gloss in that same shade, "Sophia". I was sold.

The Morphe 9s palette

I love this palette. It's a perfect everyday eye makeup palette. I love going for the cream and grey more often, with the light pink shimmer shade as my highlight. It's everything I need in one.
